Interested in TV Presenting? Meet The Agent, The Producer & The Commissioner

Join us in our very first So You Want To Work in Television Workshop Event for Presenters, entitled:

The Agent, The Producer & The Commissioner

We have set up an evening specially designed to provide TV presenters, experts and reporters an opportunity to learn more on how the decision-makers in TV make their decisions about on-screen talent. This is your chance to meet some TV professionals who between them have acres of experience and wisdom on the subject of TV talent.

The three main TV professionals who have the most impact on a TV presenter’s career are The Agent, The Producer & The Commissioner (and definitely not in that order!). We have collected one of each to present their tips for getting noticed, provide an idea of how they make their decisions about talent and answer questions from the floor.

The Agent: Jon Roseman

Jon Roseman has been in the television business for over 35 years. Once described by the Daily Mail’s Richard Kay as British TV’s ‘uber agent’ he has been responsible for the careers of ANNE DIAMOND, NATASHA KAPLINSKY, KATE GARRAWAY, the late JILL DANDO and CAROL VORDERMAN amongst many, many others. While often described as an agent his role has been mainly that of a manager, providing career guidance, managing positive and negative press attention and advising on money and career longevity.  Jon Roseman is now part of The Talent Agency.

The Producer: Shu Richmond (Me!)

Shu Richmond has over 25 years experience as a Producer, Series Editor and Executive Producer, mainly in the area of daytime & lifestyle, factual and factual entertainment. She was Editor and then Executive Producer of ITV’s flagship show ‘This Morning’, launched a new daytime series for Sky One with Angela Griffin and developed a number of new formats for Channel 4, Channel 5, Sky and ITV. Shu was also briefly commissioning editor for Daytime at C4.

The Commissioner: Clare Hollywood

Clare Hollywood was Head of Commissioning at Living, where she ordered some of channel’s best known programmes, including Britain’s Next Top Model, series four to seven of flagship show Most Haunted and Queer Eye for the Straight Guy UK. As Sky 1’s entertainment and factual entertainment commissioner she was responsible for reviving Gladiators and commissioning An Idiot Abroad, Angela and Friends and many others. Clare is currently Head of Entertainment, Factual and Features at Zig Zag Productions.
